New, New Diagnosis … Unknown.
We’ll, here we are almost a week past the last update and there is a new diagnosis: not sure. So, I have been fighting this thing on two fronts: the physical and the emotional.

New diagnosis : Benign Positional Vertigo
Well, it turns out that the doctor now thinks I have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (great article by Jeffrey P. Harris, M.D., Ph.D..) During my appointment yesterday, I had something called an Epley Maneuver which is explained in an extremely simple to understand fashion Dr. Harris’s page. Apparently, this is one of the most common vestibular afflictions.

Rough Weekend
Well, things had been going pretty good until last Thursday. I had started feeling off on Wednesday, but then I was feeling more nauseous and anxious on Thursday morning but then around noon I got to feeling much worse. My dizziness seemed to be back and I felt weak, shaky and my skin was just crawling.

Heartland Books is Live!
The new site for Heartland Technical Bookstore, Inc., is now live, featuring over 1,000 products for trade professionals. Their product line includes training videos, trade manuals and instructions and CD-ROM packages for several trades.
Spinning Again, Dangit
Well, for the last couple of days I’ve had some off-balance feelings again. This has been accompanied by pain in my left ear (mostly yesterday). Odd enough, the pain was only noticeable when I opened my mouth.

SpamAssassin, Win32 and PerlSvc
I’ve created a page that contains almost real-time stats for our spam blocking efforts using SpamAssassin compiled to a Win32 service using PerlSvc from the ActiveState Perl Development Kit. The spam stats page is updated every 10 minutes.
Exponential Firewall Traffic
Apparently the Blaster Worm is having it’s way with lots of folks out there. Our firewall logging has nearly quadrupled over the last week.

Pictures, etc.
I’ve made some major changes to the picture page and added a few things as well. For example, we are building a house on two acres behind our place for my mom and dad so I’ve posted some pictures of the construction progress.
